The site of the new pool house is located in the picturesque village of Easton, North of Winchester. It is situated within the Easton Conservation Area with beautiful views across its garden towards the River Itchen, to the North of the site.
A contemporary pavilion type floating structure with crisp detailing, floor to ceiling glazing and natural timber. A soft and well-considered material palette helps blend the property with its natural environment, not inhibiting the existing views of the river.
The pool house will provide housing for plant and services associated with the swimming pool, changing and toilet areas. A small kitchenette space and open plan flexible space with log burner provides potential for home working and evening lounging, all in keeping with local planning policy for high quality design.
The proposals comprise a new landscape design which responds well to the existing topography of the sloping site, proving a natural connection between the house and pool house.
In addition to the new landscape design, we propose to further enhance and encourage biodiversity and ecology on the site by way of a green sedum roof, this will also lessen the impact on the natural environment and provide an attractive aesthetic when viewed from the house further up the site.
The pool house, landscape and pool designs have been well coordinated to create the perfect cohesion of these various elements.
